I think my cat is mad at me for leaving her last week. She never comes out of my room at all while I'm out here except when I called her last night at tea time. And I dunno where she slept last night but she wasn't in my bed with me like she usually is. She should be happy soon though once I get the house sorted, because now the spare room is empty and she can have her bedroom back.

Also I want to know, is it normal for cats to get picky with their food when they get older? My cat isn't exactly old, she's about 12ish I think. I don't know exactly how old, but I got her in 2003 and it was a few months before my birthday, because I remember me and my ex sister coming up with this con to let mum let me get the cat. The sister said to mum "can I give dan his birthday present really early today?" then mum was all like "hur urh his burthday isn't for months and he doesn't deserve it because he's been a cunt lately hurr" but she kept at it until mum gave in. And then she gave me the kitten. Mum was pretty furious about it. I don't think she talked to me for a few days after that lol.

But anyways, my cat has been weird in the past year or so. She used to eat almost anything, when I was extremely poor I'd buy Homebrand (I feel pretty bad about that now) and she'd eat the shit out of it. Then when I got a job I started getting her the more "expensive" brands, like Whiskers, Go Cat, etc. But she would always eat anything I gave her.

Now she's gone weird. She has phases where she will only eat a certain brand and won't eat anything else. Like right now all she will eat is Felix brand food and Go Cat biscuits. If I get anything else (even expensiver stuff) she won't touch it. I bought her some of that "fresh" cat food from the refrigerated section and she wouldn't touch it when I gave it to her. I've also bought raw roo mince for her and she won't touch it. I've also bought some of the really expensive brands, like Eukanuba and shit and she will sniff it and not even touch it.

The funny thing is that while she has a preferred brand, she will suddenly stop eating it for no reason and then I have to go through trying another few different brands to find her something that she does like. Then she will eat nothing but that for a certain amount of time, then suddenly go off of it and we go through the whole process again ad nauseam. I don't think it's due to her being bored of the food though, because while she will only eat one particular brand at any time, she will eat a few different flavours so I buy variety packs usually.

Actually, the only one I have found though that she will always eat no matter what brand she is on is that Applaws one that is made from chicken, it actually looks nice enough for humans to eat. It reminds me of that chop chop chicken stuff you get in a tin. But it's too dear so I only get a box of it when it's on special and give her one in the morning for a snack, because they're too small for an entire meal. I reckon if I gave her it for a meal I'd have to give her like 3 or 4 of them.

Also, how come all of the supermarkets have half an aisle full of dog treats, but the tiniest section of one shelf with cat treats. There are like maybe 4 different cat treats they sell and that's it. And most of them are shit treats. I bought a brand, I can't remember what they are, and they were literally just cat biscuits like what comes in the box that she gets a bowl of. And I got these other ones, they looked like little tablet things and they were cheese flavoured. She hated those. Don't blame her. But dogs get like all these cool bones and chocolate chip biscuits and all sorts of shit. It's not fair, I fucking hate dogs, why can't they have more cat things available?
