It WAS the right choice. My ex-fiance of was messing around behind my back, and was publicly displaying it at a bar that our friends (some mutual, some were MY "friends") frequented, a bar that a "friend" of mine ran, a bar whered I've known most of the staff for years. Once a "friend" of ours drove her home late one night because she was too drunk to drive. I later discover this was the first night she was making out with a guy at the bar and was flashing the bar.

No one, not one of my friends that i had known for years, not one of the friendly acquaintances, and certainly not her felt the need to tell me. The only reason I ever found out about what she was doing was that gut feeling that you know something's off and I went through her facebook messages.

4-5 years and I have issues that I struggle with constantly. I have an awesome girlfriend now who knows about it all and is very supporting and understanding when/if I get bouts of jealousy. We work together on it and honestly, at this point I would say I have the jealousy levels of your average dude, but would still like to one day go back to the fully trusting carefree guy I once was.

Here's the kicker, though. Relatively speaking, getting over a cheating ex wasn't so bad. What has really messed me up for this long is a result of my friends. The result being I don't have any anymore. I can't talk to anyone other than the typical small chat bs, I can't connect to people. I don't see myself getting any, and honestly, I'm not sure I'll ever want to.

I am very grateful for my current girlfriend, she's the only thing keeping me from being a total shut in and loner.

If ever you doubt your actions, I promise you, you made the right decision.

TL;DR: ex cheated on me, friends knew and remained silent. Funnily enough, Im comfortable with new girlfriend but have no friends and remain unable/dont want to make any.
