Nurses of Reddit. What is your most "I can't believe I have to explain this" moment?

I had to explain to a patient to wear underwear, had sores in their crotch that were not being helped by dirty pants.

Had another patient who asked why they had gotten a large abscess on their bottom. Could see poo smears at least 12 inches from the anus on a very hairy, very large bum. Had to talk about bidet, wet wipes, daily under wear changes etc.

One person thought histamine just gushed around in her skin so if she slept on her side it would get inflamed because of all the histamine gushing down.

Had to explain to a person that they were pooping fat, not bile after a fall bladder removal.

Actually a lot of people learn a lot at the doctor's. The first time you experience an ingrown hair you think you have some kind of STD. We're here to reassure you and teach you about cleaning your butt properly.
