Obama Is Returning To Politics This Fall, And Trump Isn't Going To Like It

someone asked yesterday who invited Trump to the infamous White House Correspondents Dinner where he got absolutely roasted. didn't know so googled it. heart sank when I saw that the invitation was from the Washington Post. quietly posted the reply without adding my opinion at the time. it was a "oh you have to be fucking kidding me... it makes sense..." moment. Trump, really, should have more of a sense of humor. he's insecure as fragile as fuck. but we, as a society, didn't recognize that enough to remember how much seething bitterness, and contempt, and embarrassment, can be used in the hearts of people like Trump. we forgot how much rage can motivate. every attack on Obama's policies, every attack on the media, everything we're suffering through now, might very well be no small part because of what happened on that one day. this does not absolve him of responsibility, or take away any rightful blame, or excuse it in any such way. I'm simply saying... we played our part in creating a comic book supervillain... and that, hopefully, should be humbling.
