Let me explain, I don't think there is anything wrong with asking for a source, but please do your research yourself first. Likely, this guy didn't know the case off the top of his head. He Googled keywords for the case just like anyone else would.

If it were me, I would have Googled, and found cases I thought would fit the context, and then ask if they were familiar.

A poster on reddit is not responsible to cite everything they post as it's an informal conversation. If you do request .someone to do work on your behalf the least you can say is "please."
