OOP asks if he's the AH for telling his sister he does not care his "bastard" of a brother died

A lot of comments are giving the OOP a pass because of how his childhood was disrupted, etc but not extending the same grace to his sister. Some are even blaming her on a par with the parents - is she supposed to be a parent to her OLDER brother? IMO it’s an ESH situation (with the caveat that’s only knowing one side of the story) with the sister sucking least of all. It was the OOP ‘s right to cut off his father and not have anything to do with his half-brother - but demanding his sister do the same was toxic, controlling and abusive. His disowning his mother when she reconciled with his father shows it was never truly about his mother’s pain. When he asked his sister for the truth, she was brutally honest - maybe she should’ve been less brutal (she’s still a kid, remember?)
