Oh man… I just had this happen to me a few weeks ago. Their kid went home and told their parents that I’m suddenly enforcing them to wear their mask above their nose, but that I didn’t require it before, and now they struggle being in school all day. That was never the case. The expectation has always been to wear an appropriate and well-fitted mask over both the mouth and nose. I remind this student 119 times a day to put it back over their nose.

Mom emailed me and my principal saying it’s okay that I didn’t require it before, but that this sudden change is making it hard for their kid to be in school all day. Then they asked for alternatives like a face shield.

And of course my principal got to the email first because I don’t check emails until I return to work the next morning. Ugh, so frustrating.
