I'm a boomer, I remember when print gaming journalists looked down on "vloggers" and a lot of people thought it wasn't "real game journalism."

It's weird that you've circled back around and don't think magazines or written long-form are "real," I find the reasons just as arbitrary. I'd say it depends more on the person, not the medium, on how much "journalism" is actually involved. If I had to choose one "real game journalist" I'd go with Jason Schreier at Kotaku, who does exclusively blogs/written word (the modern equivalent of a magazine).
