People that asked out or got asked out by a long-time crush (and also a friend), how did it went and what did you/him/her say?

Mine's kinda a long story...

We used to work together (I have a massive crush on him) and kept in touch since. He had canceled our "hang outs" at one point a couple times and I called him out on it when I had enough of it, told me it was issues or something. Didn't learn until last month it was really because he saw me as a big step into a relationship and wasn't ready for one. He tells me he didn't want us to stop communicating and then I told him let's not schedule anything until he was ready. We keep in touch by texting almost every single day.

Then I get a surprise on a Sunday after work, he tells me he wants to take me out and meet my parents; which was a must since my parents are really old-school and Asian. The only way for me to go out with him is if he greets my parents. Also, another reason he canceled before. We make plans and when the big day finally comes, he actually shows up and I forget telling my parents that he was going to come because I expected him to cancel again. He was very respectable and sweet to my parents. They let us go on our date.

Went to eat and then after dinner he wanted us to walk around, we hold hands and just had a beautiful time together. We also continued to hold hands in the car. We get back around 11p, the curfew, as he had promised my parents, but we don't get out the car until 2am.We were cuddling and I chickened out on my first kiss. I apologize and he says gently we'll save it for another time, taking it slowly. Which, I love him for. I'm falling pretty hard for him. We both expressed how much we enjoyed being around each other and gonna plan the next date when it's a good time.
