A plea bargain for Trump? There’s a problem.

The president should not be above the law.

But the founding fathers sure seem to have decided that the place to sort out the transgressions of the law was Congress and not the courts while the president is still in office.

Look, I'm a relatively old man. The world will have to live with all of this long after I am gone and I just hope the best way forward is followed.

We might screw up our reading of the Constitution in our desperation to get a compromised Russian out of the White House. We may have to endure some really awful chaos between now and 2020 if we can't get him out of the White House before then. Trump may be pressured into resigning so he can cut a pardon deal with Pence. The future is uncertain.

There are so many lawsuits piling up against Trump and his family that they will end up being a cautionary tale for generations to come. It's Shakespeare being trotted out before our eyes.
