I personally have nothing against religion

If jesus was a real person

I don't think that's a meaningful idea. Religion is a cognitive phenomenon, it's about stuff going on inside the believer's head. For example people try to bargain with the universe by negotiating with their deity. Or people look for validation in their opinions by ascribing them to their deity. Or see the world as an us-versus-them narrative with their deity as their side's mascot. That's all about their state of mind.

(there probably was at least someone comparable)

It's just irrelevant whether there was some guy who acted as the namesake for the character in the story they ostensibly associate with what's really a personal mental construct.

But even just on the question of "was there a guy behind the story", there's no reason to think so. There's no evidence. Looking at recent religions like Mormonism or Scientology or Räelianism, their mythological backstories are unadulterated balderdash with no connection to reality.

And if you just mean that the history of Christ cults probably had a starting point with an original cult with an original founder who might have called himself Jesus, okay. But again going by recent examples, if so, he was probably a garden variety religious grifter out to fuck bitches and get money, just like the cult founders of today.
