Perth mosque attack: Suspected car bomb explodes outside Thornlie Mosque

Religion is not the problem.

Hate to disagree but religion is entirely the problem, specifically this religion. Islam today is as bad as Christianity during the dark ages.

It's socially backwards, totalitarian, openly hostile to everyone that isn't themselves, with some pretty clear teachings about what to do about it, all of which involve blood shed of some sort.

That's no justification for a firebomb, but that doesn't means it's not understandable. Frankly society has spent the last decade pretending that Islam is totally not all the things we know Islam to be, because otherwise polite society brands one a racist, even though Islam is an ideology & not a race.

When you leave people no recourse to communicate how much they dislike an ideology, ANY ideology, eventually that person is just going to turn around & kick your teeth in.

Socially we've reached that point, because nothing breeds fundamentalism like trying to squash dissent & rigorous debate. An yet that's exactly what we've done as a society, we've made a powder keg, where otherwise rational people will actually side with legitimately bigoted people, because civil discourse has been rebranded racism, or xeneophobia, or islamaphobia & then legislated away as hate speech.

When a culture is more offended by people pointing out the negative features of an ideology than by the actual negative features that are being pointed out, then that has become a very sick society indeed.

To borrow a line from Orwell: In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

That being said, those guys who fired bombed it will be caught & when they do I hope they throw the book at you.
