Yoooooooooooooooo. Stop right there. In November, my wife called Orkin to check our attic due to a fly issue we were having in our bedroom. After some anaylsis THEIR recommendation was to:

1) remove all the old insulation (which we wanted done anyway as it was very under code) 2) treat the attic for a "mouse infestation". Must be dead mice or something that the flies are attracted to 3) seal everything up and replace gable vents 4) blow in new insulation

There were burrow holes in the old insulation and SOME droppings they took pictures of. They showed my wife all of this and it shocked the hell out her and we were on the edge of signing on to a $8,500 job with (14k with interest on payment plan) because we didnt have that kind of money at all.

My FIL said no you are Fucking not doing that. Got a quote for a local insulation company - $2,750 for everything above less the "infestation" treatment which turns out there wasn't one. Plus they blew in 2 dead spaces that were in the corners of a bedroom.
