Playground parenting politics

I have this all the time. I'm really close to my 2yo daughter, and I love to play with her and be involved as much as I can. My work often holds families days (we live in an isolated community) where they put on water slides etc - I always show up in my swim stuff and head off to the slides with my daughter. A lot of the other kids are left to it whilst their parents have a drink or sit on their phones and I always end up being "the adult" for about 10 kids.

It gets on my nerves, but likewise I'm there enjoying time with my daughter all the same. I know the other kids and their parents so maybe it changes the dynamic, I certainly wouldn't accept it from strangers in a playpark.

If i was you I'd just say to the other kids to ask their own adult to come and join in (as I glare over in their direction). A bit of guilt sometimes does the trick!... /S ... Sort of.
