Practicing inside... This is what my kitchen looked like when I got home from the ER

Man, I feel so, so much better after reading this thread!

My now ex-fiancée and I had just moved from my condo into a house I didn’t want to buy. I tormented her all through picking floors, lights, walls vs opening rooms, etc when it was being built. She was already starting to hate my guts, but this build and move was turning the part-time hate into a full-time position.

Fast forward to us being in this new house with condo sized furniture, and most rooms having nothing in them, to our now new “master suite”. She’s in bed watching TV and I’ve opened my newly delivered clubs and brought my little sand wedge upstairs to admire the new grips and “check out” the bounce on the carpet upstairs “because I cannot practice on the hardwood floors downstairs”! Solid logic on my part.

She had already said “don’t do that in here; go to an empty bedroom”! Well, now I have to get at least one swing in. First frigging swing, as she’s just finishing the “do not do that” scream, I played a sand bunker splash shot and my follow through took out a blade, the entire glass dome, and a bulb or three.

I was in shock. Worse, the rotation of the fan and my “making sure to accelerate through the shot” took most of the glass and the blade flying towards her and the bed. Even my trusty sidekick, my once loyal GSD, nopped-the-fuck-out on me and bolted from the room.

I was honestly in shock. I didn’t have a shard of glass on me, but her and the bed were a different story. You know that phrase “dumb founded”? Yeah, that was me. I was found dumb. Worse, first thing I looked at after the glass and fan-blade settled and quit ricocheting, was my club. I couldn’t believe I had a ding in it before I even played #1 with it.

The “ex-fiancée” earlier was a spoiler, but this is what they call foreshadowing. The fact that she picked that particular light and fan had her convinced that I did it intentionally. To this day I still have to laugh at my dumbass and I do not swing a club in the house. And, the new light and fan is absolutely beautiful!
