Putting American flags on police cars sparks backlash in Laguna Beach - Los Angeles Times

Jerry Brown's entire governance policy could be summed up as "less incarceration, whatever the cost." Nearly every choice he made while governor was to reduce overcrowding in prisons... unfortunately, his chosen method was "decriminalize everything."

As a healthcare worker, I will remain forever salty towards him for his veto of AB-173, which would've enhanced attacking nurses to a felony. I've seen so many tiny nurses get slapped and gutchecked by strung out transients and addicts who didn't get the opiates they wanted. It's time it stopped.

Brown said "making it a felony wouldn't deter crime," which is utter bullshit; if the average frequent flyer is smart enough to know how to game EMTALA and 5150 to get a free room and board once a month, they'll sure as shit know the consequences if slapping a nurse, tech, or doctor means prison time.
