Queensland police officer allegedly turns a blind eye at routine traffic stop

I'm going to get a shitload of downvotes for this, but here goes.

I was a copper for a long time. I actually hardly have tickets to anyone (because I believe a proper warning would be just as effective), but especially not emergency services.

When shit goes bad and it often does, and you're screaming on the radio of backup. I want the people listening to turn up. I want them there fast because I'm in the shit. I don't want them holding back or going slow because I pissed them off by giving them a ticket over some bullshit stop sign. I want the ambulance officer to make sure that he patches me up, the nurse to be nice when I'm at the hospital and the doc to do his best. I know that chances are they will anyway, but emergency services do a tough job and I'm not going to give them a ticket for a minor traffic offence because simply I don't have to.

It's the same if you're on a construction site and see someone make a minor mistake. Do to run to the WHS regulator and dog your mate who is responsible for holding the harness when you're working at heights? Of course not. Because you'd get a reputation for being a dickhead. This is exactly the same yet everyone expects coppers to be cunts to one another.

Don't get me wrong, no one is advocating that you turn a blind eye to serious criminal conduct, but you're a team and that means you don't fuck over today, the people you might need to save your life tomorrow.
