Rand Paul: Shutting the government down costs more than keeping it open

Actually not true... Work for a government contractor, the government will not pay for any of our CDC work while the government is shut down. A lot of employees are not to report to work on Monday, and will have to take PTO, Sick, Holiday, PTO debt or leave without pay. I am in corporate services so I still have to go in, but if this lasts more than a week they will make me stop working as well.

Contract DO have "we can randomly shutdown the gov from time to time, and we might choose not to pay you when that happens"... The big difference is that when the government opens back up it will give all direct employee's their pay they missed while closed, where as I will just have lost out on all that income...
