My mother denied having a drinking problem despite us finding dozens upon dozens of beer cans crammed into various nooks and crannies around her house, and despite her being clearly drunk and reeking of alcohol almost every time we saw her.

Up until the day she died of liver failure, she denied, denied, denied, denied... always blamed it on some obscure genetic blood disorder, or blamed doctors for trying to make her look bad by faking blood test results, etc.

Kavanaugh's self-righteous anger is how my mother used to act whenever you'd call her out on something. There was no middle ground. Either she was reasonably calm or she was OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS AND blah blah blah.

I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Kavanaugh was still a raging alcoholic.
