reddit, at what moment you realise that the person you were dating is an idiot?

On the first and last date.

A disclaimer: I didn't make the call not to go on a second date. But, yeah, it was probably for the better.

I met her through Happn, a dating application for mobile, and we wrote well together. We decided to meet up. I just got a job at LEGO at this point, and I got a small chopper set for +6 years olds. I figured that I would make a fun date, so we went for a walk, shared some white wine and then... Pop out the LEGO for a fun, bonding, and collaborative bonding. Only it wasn't. It became clear to me that the LEGO set for 6+ y/o's was quite the challenge for 'us' to complete. I had to slow down quite a bit, to ensure that we both got to build, which is totally fine. I just sipped some wine and made some casual conversation in the meanwhile. She then blurted out: "I bet this is really easy for you," which left me at a tough place. Because... yeah it was for 6 y/o's. I can't recall exactly what I said, but I did my best to not seem like a total dick, I really just wanted for us to have a good time. So yeah, a bit awkward.
