Redditors in Baltimore: what can you tell us about what's happening tonight?

Holy crap, I nearly died right now. I am literally shaking. I was trying to leave my job at a warehouse on 14th and Vine but because I was handling some of this green chemical that has to be refrigerated (radioactive stuff), I wasn't able to just ditch the place when I realized the rioters were less than a mile away. Me and my buddy Steve were hurrying up as fast as we could but these buckets were heavy. Smoke started getting in our eyes from one of the fires and eventually we were coughing a lot and our jobs were useless. We just dropped the last one and ran off.

Me and Steve take the bus home but tonight we obviously couldn't expect the bus system to be running. Still, he only lives 4 miles which doesn't seem that bad and he said I could crash at his house. We took off as quick as we could, I forgot my jacket but I figured I could get it in the morning.

We could have gone way over to South Street but we felt like we would be fine if we were close to the riots, so long as we stayed in the alleys. Stupid idea? yeah but Steve thought it wouldn't be problem if everyone was looting businesses-they wouldn't be in the alleys.

Stupid. Mother flipping idea. We ran into an alley and 4 African American guys were staring straight at us less than 10 feet away. He walked up to Steve (tall white dude) and looked at me (short Colombian guy) and pulled out a goddamn knife. Our lives were going to come down to some answers to a question I would quickly realize.

"Are you cops?"

"No."

"Do you know any cops?"

"No."

"Do you hate n!ggers?"

"No." Steve added that his godfather was black (total BS but whatever)

The man put his knife away and walked away.

"You guys won't pay tonight for what you've done to us all these years. But just promise me one thing."

"Anything you want!"

"Next time you come through here..." He turned his back to us as he quietly said "...use a serious tag."

We nodded, feeling very relieved as the black men hopped on their Segways and headed back to their hilarious jobs of being mall cops.
