Redditors who one day just said, "Fu** it" and quit their job to travel the world, how did it all work out?

My wife and I quit our jobs at 29 and 27. We lived in a trailer and traveled all over the US for 7 months.

After that we bought land in upstate NY and I have been building our house to start a small homestead/farm. I am 32 now.

I will never work in a cubicle again. It is human farming, and you're the cabbage. I have never been so happy in my life. My wife happily works remotely and earns a good income, and I will run the farm, building stuff etc. It really is heaven. We will have a little girl this June, so I am working hard to finish hanging drywall and then install the bare bones of the house.

We have no debt and never will. That is the key. Also the 401k stuff you see is a lot of bullshit too, the company match makes it worth it, but remember your savings becomes untouchable until you're an old man or woman, and even then if you want to suck a bunch out to clear your debts it will really hurt. The system is set up to keep a thumb down on you - what's good for society is a the guarantee that people are predictable and will spend their good years and waking hours doing the daily grind. Some day when it's too late, you'll wake up and ask what have I done? I didn't actually need all that stuff.
