Redditors who quit their jobs in a blaze of glory, what's your story?

My girlfriend and I both worked at an insurance agency at the time and discovered that agents were being smiley as all hell. We uncovered that the most successful salespeople were using tactics that gave them an unfair advantagd; in a lot of cases they either lied to the customers or twisted the underwriting to provide lower rates, or they would reject people who would likely not sign up. This is all problematic because each salesperson is ranked against one another and those who played by the rules were effetively at a major disadvantage and more likely to actually be fired as a result.

My job was to monitor these situations and ensure that everything was done properly. I brought it up to my boss and his managers but no one cared because sales were looking good and their region was compared to others.

My girlfriends team was suffering as a result because they played by the rules and did fine but not as well as everyone else. I was almost fired as a salesperson a year earlier for being worse in comparison to the cheaters.

When my girlfriend quit not long after, she sent a revealing note to the VP of our department and some other important people, and cc'd the CEO. She exposed everything in this eloquently written note. The VP replied and was incredibly disappointed to hear about all of this. He wanted to meet with her and keep her but she was already gone.

Fast forward 2 weeks and this dumbass company sent me to a job fair to recruit for them. I brought my resume with me and ended up finding a job elsewhere (which has since worked out incredibly well for me)

So I return from the job fair and learn that my agency has decided to promote me. I accept knowing that I'll be quitting in 2 weeks. In those 2 weeks I follow my girlfriends footsteps and also send an email to the VP and other important people exposing the corruption. Its important to note that no one knew my girlfriend and I were in fact dating.

So the VP this time asks to meet with me and I oblige. I confirm everything that my girlfriend has previously written about which makes him accept this all as fact. He then reveals thAt when she sent the email, he received a call from the CEO at 6AM furious. He tells me hopes this doesnt impact my future here but my mind is already made up. I quit on my first day in my promoted position and eventually learn that justice was served as many of the cheaters were either fired or demoted in my absence.
