Unless your goal is genocide or totally razing a town to set an example. Also if you use secret police like the Nazis and Russians did you can single out troublemakers extremely effectively without firing a shot. I'm more worried about far right nut jobs with stock piles of weapons forming a new brown shirt brigade like the Nazis had than I am from the American military coming to round people up. It seems the people with the most guns are also the most hostile to pretty much everything this country was founded on. While I am definitely pro second Amendment, I think we need serious gun control to keep guns out of the hands of people who quite frankly hate liberal democracy.
