I really hate the interpretations you quoted. What I read in a few places where hadiths "How could you sleep with her after hitting her?" and to use a toothbrush. Also, the context is Qur'an 4:34, which leads me to make the radical interpretation that this verse in only in the context of obeying God more than a wife, having more love for God than want of a wife, and that otherwise a man that hits is that bad person that all women universally (unless social structures censor this response) would label him for such despicable actions.

This is so disgusting. Not really because of the position it is taking, but because of how it says it from such a blatantly patriarchal position. (and I am a man)
On the contrary, the American government has laws against domestic violence and programs for survivors.
ummm....these are much more local and community in scope, such as YWCA. Not that battered woman's shelters aren't good things.
Marital Relations

there use to be many rules on clothing, most famously women not wearing pants, but also women being required to wear hats while men were prohibited.
Freedom of Marriage
This freedom is called "civil marriage" and Israel also lacks it. Also, you forgot to mention gay marriage.
Hijab
The Christian world has a long history of pushing women of the world to cover their breasts (which is explicit in the Qur'an), and this norm is very much the law in the US.
Divorce
Divorce was only legalized in Ireland in 1980 by referendum (much earlier in other places).
In Islam, the home is the domain of women
The US had this before WW2 pushed women into factory work. (We can do it!)
Polygamy
There are still excommunicated Mormon sects that practice this in Utah, even if there is a SCOTUS case against it.
Child Marriage
Age of (actual, not legally allowed) marriage keeps going up and up in the West. There is a problem with quite consensual couples ending up with the man classified as a sexual offender permanently, even when they get married once old enough.
