romantic places?

Glad to help! One of the nice things about Victoria is that a LOT of it is all clumped together at that waterfront area. Oh, and come to think of it, depending on how in shape you are, Chinatown is within walking distance of the waterfront area as well - it's just a bit of a hike to get there. And I'm not a fan of the place myself but I have several friends who love it - Milestones is right on the water, so you might check there re: dinner reservations as well. Just up the street there's The Sticky Wicket which I found both pretty and interested on the inside - it's a very oddly built building and you keep turning corners and finding new rooms. The rooftop restaurant (complete with beach volleyball court) are closed at this time of the year but the restaurant is pretty, and I've always had good food and great service there.

(Are you overwhelmed yet?)

OOH and if she likes used books there's also Russell's Books, another reason for me to regret not living there, with THREE FREAKING FLOORS of used books, and just tell me those floor to ceiling bookshelves aren't sexy as hell, and the staff are all very nice, and the basement is full of the old/rare books, and the entire place SMELLS like books. Which is good or bad, depending on if you love books.) And I just heard of it myself so haven't been there personally yet but I just heard of Munro's Books which is in what looks like a beautiful old building, AND here's the cool thing, it was recently GIFTED by the owner to his employees when he retired.

There's also The Dutch Bakery next to Russell's which sells chocolates in the front of the bakery, and there's Roger's Chocolates which has been in business in the same store for nearly 100 years (and was started in Victoria), and there's also Chocolat. Again, all close to that waterfront area!

I should probably stop so you have time to stop researching before Valentine's is actually here.
