I’m not a source and this is third-hand knowledge so please don’t take this as fact - but I have a close friend on the 49er medical staff that is also friends with one of the medical staff members on the Giants. He told me that it’s Correa’s ankle (obviously) but one of the worst ankles he’s seen in sports and that even Correa and his camp didn’t know how bad it was. Talking like the ankle of an 80 year old.

Again, just passing along info received from a friend who has a friend so this could be bullshit but I am inclined to believe it. He told me during the Giants physical that he didn’t think the deal would happen because of it too but obviously didn’t expect this level of drama.
