Salvation for dummies

The people that are resurrected at the great white throne have no chance of being saved. That's why they're referred to as "the dead". This is called the resurrection of damnation.

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

There are two resurrections. The rapture which occurs at the end times after the great tribulation. This is when all saved believers are returned to their flesh and live forever thence. These people aren't judged by their works because Christ has covered their sin.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:6)

The people at the second resurrection are judged by their works and therefore have no hope. They are guaranteed damnation because all have sinned and come short. Even the people that believed Jesus was God, prophesied, cast out devils, and did wonderful works in his name will be turned away.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-22)

Salvation isn't of works. Anyone judged by their works will be damned to hell. The only way is by grace, through faith.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
