Sandy Hook victim's mother: Congress to blame in Las Vegas shooting

Would you rather not live in a country where the chances of meeting someone armed is non-existing and as a result, have an order of magnitude less gun related crimes?

Yup. I'd also like fifty trillion dollars and a spaceship, which is statistically more likely to happen for me than all criminals with guns in the USA disappearing.

How often do you have to pull out that concealed gun and defend yourself? Once a day? Once a week? Once a month? Once a year? Never? If never, then why do you need a gun? I've never had the need for a rocket launcher either but you never know, right?

One time in my life so far, and it stopped an aggravated kidnapping and probably a rape. For 11 years I've gotten Christmas cards from her and for 4 years I've watched my back for him. As much as I hope I never have to pull it again, I carry daily because the world is real.

And why do you think a country where you feel the need to be armed 24x7 is a good place to live?

Not necessarily, but again I live in the real world. That said, we've talked about moving to Canada, and if our jobs ever let us move there we've already decided that giving up the mass of our guns is acceptable for the upgraded social structure. So I guess the answer is "no, I don't feel like it's a good place to live."

But that doesn't compel me to invent a fantasy. It is where I live, and nobody has the right to mandate I be a victim.

If we're talking fantasy, let me end with this: if in this make-believe world where self-defense is no longer necessary you're able to disarm and eliminate crime, then I 100% guarantee you all non-criminal gun owners will hand ours in at the very end.
