I usually have a live and let live approach to nature, especially when we encroach on their territory but baboons can just straight up get fucked. They can open car doors, they rob people, they kill dogs, they’re just god damn terrifying. Not all of them but the ones who have learned to associate people with food like the ones at Cape Point. They’re just furry gangsters with massive teeth and no sense of personal space. Tourists keep feeding the little shits as well making them more violent and brazen as the years go by. Vervet monkeys are fine but they’re on thin ice.

I know this doesn’t help you with your fear of primates but I just needed to vent about baboons. Also maybe don’t come to South Africa, I usually don’t try to discourage tourism but it might not be the country for you.
