Why is it seen as normal to get congratulation cards?

I don’t have a negative outlook on life whatsoever, just because I don’t want to get a card and balloons for her. That’s really a huge jump for you to take, and honestly a bit disrespectful.

And no, I wouldn’t buy gifts for my best-friend, or myself. I’d simply do the same as I did for my boyfriends sister, wish her a healthy pregnancy, and tell her I’m glad the baby arrived healthily, that they’re okay.

I don’t think that’s rude whatsoever, I still have them in my thoughts, I’m still happy it went well. Also I’m not sure how much I want to celebrate bringing a life into this world that impacted everyone else’s lives, and was unprepared.

Not only that, but children are born every single day, across the globe.
