[Serious] Are Google & Facebook trying to be like Hogwarts from Harry Potter (with examples)?

The Internship and similarities with Harry Potter (first movie)

  • 2 guys get into same school/magical place of knowledge where you get to do cool stuff

  • Harry Potter is the tall brown haired guy [I forget his name because I am high] Vince Vaughn

  • Ron Weasley is the blonde surfer who (wtf I cant remember his name either) Owen Wilson

  • There is a girl who is studious/hardworking/cute and just bitchy enough

  • Obligatory villian who speaks in obnoxious english accent (makes you want to punch him in the face)

Facebook can be all the weird social shit going on at Hogwarts:

  • paintings popping out [fb photos]

  • ghosts passing by [fb friends/family]

  • weird changing staircase/pathway [fb rules keep changing in a weird way]

  • everyone is connected in some way [fb contacts, friends of friends]

  • trippy animated newspapers [fb timeline]

  • Diagon alley [facebook marketplace?]

Other similarities:

  • Flying car vs driverless car

  • In Harry Potter food comes from nowhere, in Internship food is free

  • Classes and rules (cant quite explain how the two are connected, basically shows the 3 people learning how to deal with this uniquely weird reality where the rules of the 'real world' do not quite apply)

  • That weird quiddich game in the movie (serious what the fuck was that)

  • Tall guy has to overcome (insert problem) before final test

  • The good guys win, and are now part of said uniquely weird reality
