[Serious] Redditors who were almost murdered, what's your story?

I believed my friend when she said she didn't have feelings for me. Once I opened my eyes to all the manipulation and pointed it out it became clear this person didn't give a shit about me and was fixated only on having a partner who seemed worthy of them. She threw every gift, every compliment, every huge gesture my way and all it did was make me uncomfortable.

I thought our friendship meant something, especially because this person swept in when I needed somewhere to live. I trusted her but she couldn't keep up the facade too long. She completely underestimated how transparent she was, her arrogance meant she couldn't appreciate other people's intelligence.

We lived together and had pets together and if I didn't have such a bad feeling that night I would've stayed in my room...

I was in a motel already booking my flight home. Now, if you can imagine the horror of sneaking to the police station near your apartment and finding a fire brigade outside your building, seeing your bedroom window black and blown out.
