One time, thousands of miles from home, I got lost while riding a bicycle in a rural area. I strayed very far from where I was staying, pedalling and pedalling along dirt roads, convinced I was just a few minutes away from my destination. Then it got dark. I decided to stop the bike, turn around, and try my best to make it back. Before long, it was completely dark, and I had no light to guide my way. Some guys on dirtbikes came up behind me and alternated between following me and riding directly beside me, at my exact pace, making sex noises. I thought to myself that here I was, in the middle of nowhere, moments from being attacked by these guys, and they could throw me anywhere and nobody would ever find me. Probably the most frightened I've ever been. Thankfully after about 20 minutes they left me alone.
