~9/10 people blank looks. ~1/10 people get triggered and go into a "what about the X". Of the blank looks on further explanation a surprising number are totally for anarchy in any particular area but wont let themselves take it on as a principle which I think is reasonable for any philosophy you have been freshly exposed to. A lot more have trigger issues that flip them back to raging statists like talking about IP to artists especially those involved in the music industry which is weird because none of the ones I have talked to specifically benefit directly, they just hope that one day they will be on the receiving end of royalties while they pretty much work completely absent any real protection for what they come up with and do fine. I guess thats it, the guy who acted as if I was literally stealing food from his unborn babies mouths by not also supporting locking people in cages who imitate over a certain percentage of the music he may come up with that is mostly derivative of what has come before and when you think of it is mostly also a product of reverse engineering the preferences of others.

My new approach to these people is to completely avoid the IP debate and just ask them if they know about pateron, its another way to make money off of their music. Once people move to these platforms for funding then the incentive to keep their art in a walled garden pretty much fades away and instead they can work on spreading it so that they are well known and people want to pay them for producing more...
