Should reddit's policy towards mods on popular subs be changed?

Mods on reddit are immune to any type of punishment for their actions and I see it as a growing issue that has tainted my view of reddit. A couple of recent examples:

  • A mod made a post telling everyont that was making posts not to their liking to "go die"
  • I made a comment criticizing a mod for being rude. That comment was deleted, and the account banned. Subsequently I made a post with a different account criticizing the mod's behavior not only with that action but in the past. As a result both accounts were banned from reddit.

This is a serious issue. If people aren't even allowed to question mods it leads to the degredation of reddit as a whole.
