Why should we study something we won’t be using later in life?

I tought a lot of things won't be usefull but they turned out to be. The problem is you never know what until it's needed.

I went to art school, we had some course about electicity, i was good at it but i would prob never use it if i decided to work at the field i was schooled at.

I decided to go to mech eng uni. We again had a subject with it, after the first class the professor asked me to be a demonstrator during practice hours since i already had the bases for the subject. So a subject i never tought would be usefull fed me trough uni.

It happened a lot, skills i got when i was bored or was forcefully tought in school got me advantages for different jobs or gave me an extra income.
