Why shouldn't one enter the field for money?

Don't get me wrong, I am only 24 so I am naive as fuck, but I mentioned the fact that I do find some interest in IT. I never presented a black-and-white view in that regard. There's also the problem that there is no other choice. I do not really enjoy any job, and I do not see me enjoying any field anymore than IT. IT also gives me the money to hop into another field. Say 10 years down the road, I say fuck it and want to be an actuary. I can't afford going back to school for a math degree on most other wages.

I am also going to respond to your other comment (I think it's you). I would love to be able to not work on work after work. Again, I do like this field. I am hesitant to say love because it's not at the level of say history or math for me. It's still high, and I like learning new topics in the field. I plan to do just that even if I never enter IT. But I am not willing to sacrifice my other interests for IT. I do not love it that much. I hope to self-learn to an undergrad level at least a ton of subjects which means years and years of reading dense textbooks. That takes a shit ton of time, and I won't have that if what little time left I have after work is spent on IT.
