back in the day they had life-insurance vending machines at airports for right before you boarded your flight. they were ridiculously cheap policies and a lot of people who were afraid of flying bought them.
now, i'd be curious for if that lead was confirmed and that's actually how she got the life-insurance or if it was just her story, because by the late 80s a lot of those vending machines had gone out of style they were more of a 60s phenomenon
