Stanford 'neglecting its frontline workers' in COVID-19 vaccine rollout, doctors protest

This is the problem it seems with allowing anyone privately to make these determinations.

We need order and coordination by a competent government.

What’s stopping administrators from putting themselves, friends, family and wealthy folks at the front of the line? Absolutely nothing.

There’s been this huge push to get vaccines to certain groups (rightfully) and telling the general public you’ll get yours in 3-4 months. But as soon as it lands at hospitals, it’s a free for all. There is no equitable distribution unless people who are in charge act ethically. And as we see here, not everyone does.

It’s both sad and amazing that the folks here are standing up against this behavior. It’s unfortunate but I think we are going to see a lot of this because every organization is given free reign on what to do once it gets in their hands.
