Star Wars Battlefront Beta Review - Is It Too Casual? (LevelCap)

I don't have any problem with the game not being BF4(I have over 500+ hours in BF4 alone and probably double that at least in previous iterations. I've put probably 15~ hours into this beta too). The issues I have is that some of the issues in Battlefront can be easily fixed by taking some small things from BF4 that are good. The vehicle pickup system is bad and the "random" placements are already being camped which will do nothing but get worse as the game continues. The buddy system ruins playing in any groups larger than 2 since you can end up on different teams and basically be forced to play against each other since you can't swap teams. The class/character issue if you want to call it that. There is no teamwork whatsoever outside of shooting something someone else is shooting at or defending an objective. Give more team orientated cards or pickups, I think there is one in the game which is the squad shield but outside of that I can't name any that help my teammates defensively.

I don't want BF4. If I want BF4 I'll play that but DICE seemingly forgets what made their other games good shooters. I get that's it's obviously meant to be a casual game but that doesn't mean you should disregard any teamwork outside of help me shoot this thing or shoot stuff while I do this other thing.

The issues I have with this game are that it's just boring after a couple matches. It seems like something I'd buy and put down after 2 weeks because I've done everything and there isn't any goal or something to strive for. The game nails the looks, sound and authenticity that a Star Wars game should have but outside of that I can't name anything that's better than okay.

This is going to be one of the most split opinions on a game on a large scale in recent memory. I won't be buying this game anytime soon because it releases at a bad time for me (too many games and a big backlog) but I might pick it up after 6 months to a year in true DICE game fashion when the game is in an enjoyable state and the major issues have been addressed and changed as accordingly. The game isn't bad to me but it's just not that good either probably about a 6.5/10 if I had to rate it based on the beta
