1200 is a mountain of food depending on what you prefer eating.

I am male, 6'2", and quite overweight, my daily intake from the offset has been 1800 + exercise calories. The first few weeks were HELL because I was so full. I seldom could get above 1500 kcal. Over a longer period time, (admittedly not a large time scale, so take everything I say purely anecdotally), I did experience a few days when I felt horrible because I made a poor choice, or "treat" myself to something. Belgian Chocolate cheesecake was a treat for all of about 90 seconds, from that point onwards, it was just 1/4 of my daily calories wasted, when that could have been a huge piece of protein or a literal plate full of vegetables. While this is an extreme example, these parallels exist across all foods in differing amounts.

Figuring out how to get what you need in terms of macros, calories and satiety is pretty sucky to start, I don't think many people clear the first month with a balanced diet, no bloating or hunger, and a smile on their face.
