Statistics Canada loses, mishandles hundreds of sensitive census, employment file

I was a statcan 2016 supervisor in charge of 15 enumerators in the field. This is true. Personal cellphones with texting, personal emails with information. We had the website which we logged our information on, but until that information was finalized we did everything through personal means. And yes, we all stored things in our vehicle. We were told to have them locked in the trunk if they had to be left in the vehicle over night. We were not given paper shredders for the forms that were inevitably garbage either. Had to be given back to me under the promise that all would be returned. Then I would pack up and send back to headquarters. I guarantee I did not get everything back, but what are you supposed to do? Search people’s houses and vehicles?
