You say it’s funny because…

think absolutely ridiculous lines of thought and you are meant to laugh at how horrible and wild they are

…but fucking Jigsaw in the Saw movies has “absolutely ridiculous lines of thought” and is “horrible and wild” — are you going to tell me Saw is a comedy too?

The reason Always Sunny is funny is first & foremost because they’re JOKING. The ridiculous lines of thought, characters horrible actions, etc. all of that is just the vehicle Always Sunny uses to make jokes.

Being horrible or having ridiculous lines of thought is ONLY funny if you’re joking. Dramatic shows about horrible characters with ridiculous thoughts aren’t funny because they’re meant as jokes.
