DISCLAIMER: No success stories. Only disappointments recently. thinking about letting go of dating for a while.
-Met a nice law student. She approached me and drove almost 2h(!) to meet me in my city. Her idea. We grabbed some drinks and I thought it went pretty great. So when she told me "I'm not sure if I got a train back home, probably I'm not going to work tomorrow anyway" - I asked if she wanted to come to my place. She thought about it for a while and then said "Well I've got a train at xx.xx, I will take that one". So suddenly she knows exactly that she has a train? Why hinting to come to my place. So we texted a bit after that, I asked her out again - she said yes and is looking really forward to it. Shortly before the 2nd date she texted me "It was nice to meet you, you were everything I expected you to be, you are amazing and everything but I don't think this is gonna work. Sorry". The End.
-Exchange student. Came to my place for the 2nd date. Fucked like rabbits the whole night through and morning. We agreed to meet soon at my place. She cancels. Agrees for Friday night again. Cancels and wants to take it a bit "slower" everything would be too fast for her. Really after we've gone all the way allready? So we did some sightseeing the next day. Made plans with her again for Friday night. As I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Texted a lot forth and back. Is "looking really foward to it". She modifies the date, practically cancels and only visits me for 20min (!) in my appartment as she suddenly "needs" to visit her relatives in another city. At least she brought some home-baked brownies to say sorry. Well another Friday night ruined. So she wanted to meet me up the next Friday. What a surprise she canceled again 1h before the date. Of course I already made other plans and never expected her to come anyway. What a flake. I stopped talking to her. She still texts me. I don't care anymore. At least free brownies! Yay
-Irish girl. Wanted me to keep my Friday free for her. So we can "get to know" us better. Sure I was excited. Shortly before the date she informs me that she already has to leave after an hour as a friend visits her for the weekend. Well I went anyway. Grabbed some beer had a nice walk. Looked good. She found it to be "lovely". So she proposes to watch a movie soon. I ask her out for a movie at my place. She doesn't feel comfortable coming to my place. But we could grab some beers. But only for 30min to one hour. I cancelled as I'm not interested in making so much effort for so little time.
Basically I'm tired of making so much effort, planning, wooing and in the end getting nothing out of it except being disrespected by cancelling shortly before the date and ruining my weekend. My new rule is to always have a plan b when I got a date. As the generation y seems to be the flakiest one of all time. I take a break for a while from dating. Too much hassle.... rather have some beers with friends for the moment. Cheers guys
