Actually, no. See, what you're doing here is, you're childishly assuming that there is some sort of intelligent way to vote, you're assuming that the function of a vote is y and only y, when it's not. One person may wish to use their vote as a protest, one may wish to use it to express values, one may wish it to form a government. None of these intentions are incorrect, and choosing one over the other does not make one an idiot. Assuming that casting a vote in a manner that you personally think illogical makes somebody an idiot, however, is a very idiotic position to hold.

No, you didn't. And no, it isn't. His/her vote does not equal a vote for the opposition of his/her views, it equals a vote for his/her views. Do try to keep up. Now, to borrow a phrase, your point regarding who does and does not care is obviously "negated" by the fact that he or she does care, and so one can assume do others.
