Man I'm a 2A supporter and the guy that posted the Founders' chain of logic to arm the populace but I'm also Vietnamese-American and it's a myth that the Viet Cong "won" the war. North Vietnam won, but North Vietnam had a modern army with modern weapons supplied by two super powers. The Viet Cong got annihilated every time they encountered US and ARVN forces. Even North Vietnamese records will say that after Tet 1968 the Viet Cong lost 80% of its strength and was frankly irrelevant at that point. The North Vietnamese regulars and the ARVN/Americans were the ones fighting by then. The Viet Cong wasn't doing anything but terrorizing helpless villagers, raping and pillaging the countryside.
