Therapist making me feel worse, really need someone's opinion on this

No worries, from my personal experience I had also been seeing my therapist for one year. About one week ago I decided not to see her anymore.

A lot of the time, she was saying a similar thing to your therapist of ' I can't do anything FOR you ' which just feels kind of pointless.

As an idea I understand they want the motivation to come from you, but it is basically pointless if they are leaving all the power in the hands of the patient.... because the fact is the patient is usually mentally ill, they literally don't have the power in their own hands.

The idea that the power is magically going to come into the hands of the patient is a bit impossible, if the therapist is not steering you in the right direction, if the therapist is not giving you tools and advice actively to change your life.

That's why I decided to end the therapy after one year, amongst other reasons.
