Thousands of women are throwing a guy a dance party after he was body shamed

Not to get all soap boxy, but maybe if you interacted with more feminists personally instead of basing your opinion of them and flawed understanding of their ideology instead of being informed by the stereotypes put forth by the same kind of people who would shame this man, you'd discover that this is pretty typical behavior for feminists.

Feminists oppose that whole le patriarchy thing. This is different than opposing men. The sort of things feminists attribute to the patriarchy include (along with a million other things) men being disposable such as in war, men being stereotyped as less equipped to parent and thus given unfair scrutiny in cases such as custody, men feeling pressured to hide their emotions, etc. As well as issues like body shaming that don't know gender.

There are exceptions. There always are. But just as a "fundamentalist" Christian championing hateful causes isn't doing a very good job of following the teachings of their own religion, feminists who support equality for all (including cishet white men) aren't doing a very good job of following feminism either.

It's true that female feminists put an emphasis on issues that affect them the most, but that's true of everyone really. That doesn't mean they don't care when they affect men, or that they don't intervene when they feel men are being wronged, etc.

It's easy to look at hyperbolic feminist strawmen and say "this is feminism", but I don't know how anyone could actually research feminism and feminist ideology and agree that the "SJW feminazi MISANDRISTS" are the majority of feminists, or even a sizable enough minority to make a difference if they weren't discussed so much but the antis.

And I say all of this as a former MRA who saw the light. Feminism is about making the world a better place for men to live in as much as men. They don't combat things like body shaming because it is bad for women. They combat it because it is bad.
