TIL marijuana levels in the bloodstream do not match levels of cognitive impairment, making it difficult to test reliably for driving while stoned

I agree with your comparison entirely. Especially with the coffee comparison. An ex girlfriend had essentially never drank coffee in her 25 year lifetime because she didn't like the taste. Can you believe that? A full grown adult that has never had a whole cup of coffee? Anyway, she had a headache one day so she ask me if I had anything for it and all I had was excedrin migraine which as we all know has a decent amount of caffeine in it. She couldn't handle it, she thought she was going to have a heart attack and was so terrified I had to take her to the hospital even though I thoroughly tried to explain to her she would be fine after a bit and its just the jitters from too much caffeine. She certainly could not have driven a car in that state either mentally or physically. After a long time of daily smoking of pot it has almost no effect on me, absolutely zero impairment. I feel more normally after smoking it than I do when I haven't smoked it. I don't feel like just another dumb stoner trying to overconfidently say I am cool to drive while high, I am certain its not that big of a deal. If you only knew the people I knew that smoke even more than I do regularly. I am talking teachers, healthcare workers, firefighters and otherwise positive people in the community that normies(thats what we would call people ignorant of pot) would not believe have that secret lifestyle. Why do you think pot is legally in washington? Thats because a whole lot of normal fucking people are stoned daily here, like you wouldn't believe how many people. It really is just not that big of a deal. If some dumb kid gets high and drives around, well yea that's probably not a very good idea, but all I am really saying is that there is a lot more to the idea of marijuana impairment and ones ability to operate a motor vehicle. It is just not that big of a deal. Ok pot has been legal in washington for a while now, how many dead people are there as a result? Maybe like a couple? And can we say with a certainty that it was entirely attributed to marijuana impairment? I don't think so.
